A great way to benefit from business travel is through the many loyalty schemes and rewards programs on offer with accommodation. There are lots of hotels all over Europe that offer loyalty points or discounts on their services. Whether it be a free night’s stay to a voucher towards your next stay.

First and foremost, it’s important to check that your company’s travel policy allows the use of loyalty programs and points. However, there are obvious benefits to using these schemes for many businesses—to keep costs low and provide a better experience for employees.

TravelPerk is a great platform for booking corporate accommodation and it can make saving and redeeming loyalty points easier.

For any business travelers that regularly travel, hotel loyalty programs are well worth utilizing as and when they’re available to your destination. We’ve created a great list of hotel rewards programs that offer the very best value when booking one of their hotels in Europe.

6 of the best corporate hotel loyalty programs & perks

There are plenty of hotel chains that offer hotel loyalty programs. Below are some of the best hotel loyalty schemes and rewards to be part of and redeem for future travel.

Radisson Rewards

Radisson is one of the world’s largest and most influential hotel groups. It has nine distinctive brands and over 1,500 hotels in operation around the world. These nine brands include:

  • Radisson
  • Radisson Blu
  • Radisson Collection
  • Radisson Red
  • Country Inn & Suites by Radisson
  • Park Plaza
  • Park Inn by Radisson

Due to its excellence in luxury hotels, it’s garnered a big following of regular guests and new customers. They operate in 120 countries worldwide, 345 hotels are in Europe alone—so plenty of choice for even those who are extra picky.

There are many perks to choosing a Radisson hotel, particularly due to their fantastic rewards scheme. The rewards program offers an enhanced experience with all of their hotels across the globe.

With four membership tiers; Club, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, members start at Club level and work their way up. The more stays or nights they have in the hotels, the higher they climb up the tiers.

The best way of getting yourself up the tier system is by applying for a Radisson Rewards credit card. But, what do the membership tiers get you? Here’s a breakdown of each tier level.

Club

This is the base level, but it still puts you at a good advantage compared to staying at another hotel you’ve not visited before. This membership tier gets you a 5% discount on food and beverages, as well as redeeming points for free room options.

Silver

In order to reach silver status, you need to have nine nights or six stays in a year. They provide 10% off food and beverages as well as extra points for every £1 you spend. There are also useful perks like early check-in, late checkout, and room upgrades that are complementary whenever available.

Gold

Requires a total of thirty nights or twenty stays. All of the benefits of Silver are included in Gold but there are also additional points available for every expenditure. With a 15% discount on food and beverages as well as a welcome gift, it’s a great tier that's easily within reach for regular business travelers.

Platinum

Platinum is the top tier and requires sixty nights or thirty stays. All of the Gold benefits are included, and additional points are given on top. There’s 20% off food and beverages as well as complimentary breakfast with each stay and a dedicated 24/7 member service line for good measure.

There are a few added extras to these membership tiers, so here’s a full table breakdown to make it easier for comparison.

Best Western Rewards

Best Western is a hotel chain that has been around for over thirty years. Their commitment to quality is the reason why they continue to thrive with new and updated hotel brands popping up on the market.

Each Best Western hotel has been given its own personality and provides a warm welcome for its customers, both old and new. The hotels themselves are in a variety of picturesque locations: from sea views to castles and modern listed buildings.

Whether it’s growing their own food and drink within the grounds or their excellent customer service, there are many reasons to stay with Best Western and try out their rewards program.

Best Western has five membership tiers which are Blue, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Diamond Select. Let’s go through them and what’s on offer for each.

Blue

With Blue membership, you don’t need a minimum number of nights stayed. You get access to the exclusive reservation line so that you do not have to wait around to book your room.

Gold

Gold requires five nights or three stays and comes with the exclusive reservation line like Blue. You can also get Gold membership when you accrue 5,000 points. With a 10% points bonus, you can build up your points to reach the higher tiers sooner.

Platinum

You’ll get everything that comes with Gold but with a 15% points bonus. You’ll need seven nights, five stays, or 7,500 points to reach Platinum. There are also room upgrades as and when they’re available in that particular hotel. An excellent bonus when you’ve had a busy day of meetings!

Diamond

For Diamond, you’ll need fifteen nights, ten stays or 15,000 points. Extras include a recognition gift or bonus points. This membership level features everything you’d get with Gold and Platinum too.

Diamond Select

The top tier, Diamond Select, requires twenty-five nights, twenty stays or 25,000 hotel points. You’re able to enjoy your current tier too until the end of 2022, and then all memberships above Blue have higher requirements for nights/stays/points eligibility. These are discounts available due to a pandemic.

IHG Rewards Club

For anyone unfamiliar with IHG Hotel & Resorts, you might be aware of the diverse portfolio of brands they have under the branch of the group itself. These include Holiday Inn, Kimpton Hotels, Crowne Plaza, and Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts to name but a few.

How to choose the best hotel rewards programs

When choosing the best hotel loyalty program, it’s worth considering the following factors. Ultimately, if you’re already going to certain hotels out of preference, then this might be an easier decision to make.

Pick hotels you want to stay in

Not every style of hotel is going to suit you for business travel and so it’s important to think about what you require and whether the hotel in question caters for your needs.

There are plenty of other hotels with loyalty programs that are worth checking out. These include World of Hyatt Hotels, Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, and Accor, to name but a few.

Check that the loyalty programs are valid for your hotel choices

In order to make use of bonus points, you’ll want to check that the rewards members scheme is accepted at the hotel you intend to stay at. You may find that some locations aren’t included, and this may include some European hotels.

Determine the right program depending on your business goals

It’s always a great advantage to use the loyalty scheme to benefit your business and its goals directly. You may want to go with Radisson due to their rewards points allocated for booking meetings, or perhaps you prefer those programs that take less time to climb to the top tier like Wyndham Hotels for example.

Whatever your preference, hotel loyalty programs are well worth using when you’re traveling in Europe for business. There are also many hotel credit card options with participating hotels should this be of interest. Be sure to compare them before committing to one or more of the loyalty schemes available.

Remember—if one doesn’t suit you, there are plenty of others to choose from.
